Tip #1 – Filter Refresh – Approximately 50% of all service calls are a result of dirty or matted indoor system filters.Replace your filter on a monthly basis or ask your service technician about available washable and re-usable filters.

Tip #2 – Clear the Way – During the fall/winter season, it’s important to remove all leaves, snow and other debris from around your outdoor heat pump unit. With an unobstructed airflow, your system will perform more efficiently.

Tip #3 – Tis the Season – Now is the time to schedule a preventive maintenance check on your heating system. Servicing your system for the season will help you avoid costly repairs in the future and will keep your systems working efficiently.

Tip #4 – Set It and Forget It – Keep your thermostat set at a comfortable temperature between 68 – 72 degrees during the winter season. Avoiding large variances in temperature settings will save you money. Ask your service tech about the benefits of installing a digital thermostat.

Tip #5 – Heed the Warning – For those homeowners with heating systems fueled by natural gas or oil, a carbon monoxide/gas detector is a must!
